VOLUNTEERS WANTED

Heartbeat of Africa project is a new project funded by Heritage Lottery Fund. This project aims to provide a better understanding to the deep rooted culture and traditions of the ‘West African’ countries. The programme will showcase artefacts, pictures and interviews of West African families to inform the public of various African customs and traditions and how families live in our communities today. Our project always depends on VOLUNTEERS, and if you can spare some time, and would be interested in joining us, we would be delighted to hear from you.

WE HAVE VOLUNTARY OPPORTUNITY WITHIN THE FOLLOWING:

  • Event & Workshop assistant (Volunteer will support the project in order to carry out the roles of overseeing deliver. Volunteer will benefit of increasing skills, confidence, knowledge and abilities in organising events/meetings/trips/workshops etc…Volunteer will achieve arts award accreditation for developing skills.)
  •  Booking & Publicity coordinator/Assistant (Volunteer will increase in development of skills and training and take part in the production of variety of marketing material relevant to African and BME communities for distribution. Engaging with all local community group/residents.)
  •  Assistant Media (Volunteer will gain skills in interview technique, recording and writing stories)
  • African drummers, Singers & Dancers (Volunteer will be delivering a cultural workshop, performances and support Artists training sessions.)
  • Driver – Age minimum 21 (Volunteer must have B Category full British Driving licence. Volunteer will be carrying members on a mini bus and others vehicles.)
